THE STORY
This rifle was actually built 2 years ago when you had to buy a whole new rifle from Armalite and throw half of it away! Derrick Martin assembled the upper. The Jewell trigger hammer spring was rebent almost 180 degrees to deliver a harder strike. It was tough to get back into the lower! The grip was one from Brownell's I was familiar with.
When this barrel is gone, I'm contemplating going down to one of those newer 6mm hybrids. Let me know your thoughts, I have invested a lot of time getting this gun to function reliably and to get the buttstock to work with the big bolt carrier and can offer a lot of advice to those interested.
Final comment: if you shoot from a very low prone position, you have to be careful about resting the rifle on the ground during matches.
