  • Corresponded with owners of AR10-001 and 003 during development of this rifle. A Jewell trigger was tried, but failed to ignite consistently. Took some advice and swapped it out for a Rock River tuned by Holliger and it has been perfect. I like the Ironstone stock, so it was modified to produce a similar LOP to the EGW stock that is on AR10-003. Scott originally plugged the charging handle slot in the rear of the receiver (can be removed easily) since his buttstock doesn't allow it's use, and I hadn't made my mind up as to which one to buy. That's why there's a charging handle on the bolt carrier. CLE also added the right-handed thru the receiver bolt release modification, so the rifle never has to be unshouldered to close it.

  • The first couple of practice sessions fired cleans in the rapids - sitting & prone - at the full distance. After shooting service rifle for many years, aperture sights should be illegal! Recoil with this rifle is close to the AR15 - very manageable. Balance is the big issue with this rifle, so pick a barrel profile that is not too heavy. For offhand, using a buttstock that has a LOP in the 12 to 12.75 inch range, you can get the majority of the rifle's weight over your chest and not extended out in front of your wrist.
